Mahabaleshwar

 

Mahabaleshwar (pronunciation) is a small city and a external council in Satara quarter, Maharashtra, India. It's a place of passage for Hindus because the Krishna swash has its origin then. The British social autocrats developed the city as a hill station, and served as the summer capital of Bombay Presidency during the British Raj.




Mahabaleshwar is located on the mountainous Sahyadri range of the Western ghats that run North to south along the western seacoast of India. The equals of the city are17.9250 ° N73.6575 °E. Mahabaleshwar comprises three townlets Malcolm Peth, Old" Kshetra" Mahabaleshwar and part of the Shindola vill. The Mahabaleshwar region is the source of the Krishna River that flows east across Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh towards the Bay of Bengal. Three feeders of Krishna, videlicet Koyna, Venna( Veni) and Gayatri, also have their source in Mahabaleshwar region. A fourth swash, the Savitri, also has its source in the region, but flows Westward via Mahad to the Arabian Sea.
Climate of the area is suitable for civilization of strawberries, Mahabaleshwar strawberry contributes to about 85 percent of the total strawberry product in the country. It also entered the geographical suggestion( GI) label in 2010.
